Pacific Palms is a beautiful coastal area in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales (NSW), Australia. The Pacific Palms region includes Charlotte Bay, Smiths Lake, Blueys Beach, Elizabeth Beach, Boomerang Beach and Tiona. It is also home to Booti Booti National Park.

Blueys and Boomerang Beach are known for their beauty and surfing. Lizzie Beach is favourite for families and many Sydney-siders spend their annual holidays there. Another attraction for tourist visitors to the area is the Green Cathedral at the north end of Pacific Palms. It is an outdoor cathedral positioned in a cabbage tree forest overlooking the sunning Wallis Lake. It is also popular for hiking trails which lead to some of Australia’s most secluded and tranquil beaches.

Landscape artists are drawn to the Pacific Palms area to paint.

Boomerang Beach is the best surfing beach in the Pacific Palms precinct, with rock ledges helping to form great waves. The rocky headlands have some great rock pool rambles at low tide.

The beach is actually boomerang-shaped and although it is unpatrolled, it is ideal for swimming with protection from prevailing winds at either end. It is balanced at each end with headlands and faces east capturing the best swell from the Pacific and offering brilliant and beautiful sunrises. This beach is a favourite painting location for the artist, Sally West and is filled with treasured memories.

Rachel Reading is inspired by her coastal home in the region. A very popular contemporary Australian artist highlighting the beauty of sea life and the flora of Australia’s coast. Her intricate and incredibly detailed works are carefully planned, with the detailed result takes months to achieve. The charcoal works are treated with the finest lacquering process which not only protects and preserves the image on the wood panel but also adds a luxurious sheen finish.

“ I create timeless charcoal on timber artworks, mainly influenced by our stunning Australian coastline. These charcoal pieces take weeks and months to compose. They will catch your eye from afar & up close up, leave you mesmerised with all the fine detail.” Rachel Reading
