Gallery Assistant

 

KAB Gallery Sydney is looking for an organised gallery assistant

KAB Gallery is an innovative art company looking for a highly motivated, vibrant individual with real personality to work within an art retail environment. This role involves gallery sales and lots of gallery administration. 

As Gallery Assistant, you will be selling premium art and supporting the gallery Directors with administration tasks.

The right candidate will need to be a great communicator, punctual, responsible and be immaculately groomed. Expect the role to be demanding while interesting and rewarding. KAB is extremely busy at times and this is in no way a typical gallery job! 

We are now recruiting for a casual role initially to assist 1 – 2 days per fortnight early in 2023 and for the right person this role would likely expand mid 2023. The Gallery operates Tuesday, Wed, Thurs 11am-4pm, Fri 11am-6pm and Sat 10am-3pm

  • Gallery Assistant 

 The position will involve but is not limited to:

  • Premium customer service and sales – Face-to-face, email, phone and online
  • Gallery presentation upkeep – daily cleaning care & management duties
  • Packaging of artworks for transport
  • Gallery Administration – Stockroom management and regular stocktakes
  • CRM Management and coordination of Director appointments 

Successful candidates will possess the following attributes: 

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills. Confidence to engage with clients. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure – prioritising and adapting the days schedule at short notice
  • Ability to maintain the general upkeep of the gallery
  • Excellent literacy skills
  • Shifts will likely include Saturdays and some evenings

  • Gallerist with a focus on art sales & customer service

Art Sales & Customer Service based in Terrigal with occasional work in Sydney

This is a part-time opportunity which includes set weekend work, accrued annual leave and sick/carer’s entitlements.

Are you a creative sales professional who loves customer service? Love retail but seek a fulfilling role that goes well beyond POS?

We need a highly motivated, vibrant individual with real personality to work in the retail space for art sales and help with some of the behind the scenes admin/curatorial aspects of the gallery. The successful person would also be willing to work 1-2 days per month at Sydney.

If you are reliable, a great communicator and know you can help our customers find their next great piece of Australian art, then please apply. You will need to have previous independent sales experience working with luxury retail, property and/or art, exceptional sales and customer service skills, and be immaculately groomed. This is so much more than a regular retail position!

The position will involve:

  • Premium customer service and excellent customer rapport
  • Representation of the KAB Gallery international brand
  • Lead development
  • Listening to customers needs
  • Sales and meeting KPI targets
  • Curation of catalogues
  • Caring for art, changing exhibitions and labeling artworks
  • Working independently while regularly reporting to the Directors
  • Invoicing – using Excel, Word, Outlook and other online systems for admin
  • Organisation of domestic and international shipping (including packing art)
  • Careful packaging and unpackaging of artworks
  • Serving international clients via email, telephone, livechat and in person
  • Regular online correspondence including Skype

Successful candidates will possess the following attributes:

  • Excellent presentation, sales and customer service skills
  • Ability to engage with customers and provide a premium purchasing experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to generate leads and close sales
  • Independent sales experience

We are seeking a reliable individual with lots of enthusiasm and a passion for helping clients purchase great Australian art. You will need to have previous independent sales experience working with luxury retail and/or art, exceptional sales and customer service skills, have PR experience and be immaculately groomed. You will also need to be a team player happy to work with other customer service staff.

Most of all we need someone who has great communication skills and excellent client rapport in order to help our customers find the perfect artwork for their space!

  • Some personal travel
  • Serving international clients via email, telephone, livechat and in person
  • Regular online correspondence
  • Keeping up-to-date with international currency conversion rates 
  • Overseeing of customs paperwork
