“I went to visit the Bellarine purely as a painting research trip. I had heard a lot about the area through friends and decided very last minute to take a trip there.”
explains Sally West

 

“I took a limited amount of painting supplies and rented a car to move around. I took an extensive amount of photographs and barely knew where I was at any given time. I got completely lost. The weather kept changing and I took these images back to my studio to produce these 3 pieces.”

The Bellarine Peninsula, located just an hour south-west of Melbourne, is loved because it is one of Victoria’s most picturesque coastal regions. With its pretty beaches, charming wineries, and relaxed vibe, Bellarine won’t stay a secret for long.
