International Women’s Day at KAB Gallery: Highlighting the exceptional women of KAB Gallery
While thinking about International Women’s Day this Friday, I am touched by the amount of women supporting and lifting each other out there in the world. I see so much commercial support between business women when brands are sharing brands on social media, and so many heartfelt recommendations from women buying and loving each other’s products. I am also loving the genuine personal support for each other out there – collaboration between colleagues, mothers helping mothers, gals supporting gals and the overall respect women have for each other as we go about our daily lives. It’s heartwarming because every one of us knows the occasional struggle. The struggle is real and whether its work, personal or just simply life taking us for a ride we all know it but somehow always seem to rise above it, move forward and take gratitude in the good.
As a female Art Dealer and Gallery Director in a historically masculine industry, I am honored to work with an array of wonderful women who embody everything I have described. Myself and the KAB Gallery team (which is 75% female) currently represent 19 female artists within our stable, and as our brand launches to the USA this year we will be immediately engaged with 4 more exciting contemporary female artists.
IWD is a fantastic opportunity for more recognition of women who are achieving their dreams. I am achieving my own career dreams, and am fortunate to have a team of knowledgeable hands-on staff to work with. Today is the perfect opportunity to point out two brilliant women in my industry and the KAB Gallery team. There are many more women I could literally write about for hours (Mum!), but for the purpose of this article I am focusing on Suzana Malancuk & Marielle Birchall who uniquely bring so much to the KAB Gallery brand. With their passion for art, professionalism, commitment to positivity and dedication to our gallery artists and clients both are forward thinking arts professionals.
Suzana draws from her experience as an artist and photographer. Her understanding of natural and created light combined with an appreciation of all art mediums assists KAB Gallery’s clients in selecting the perfect piece for a particular position or any space.
“I seek to assist KAB Gallery clients create collections of art that enhance their space. It is important to match the client’s taste with a collection of works that will enhance their environment.”
Suzana is a great listener and full of knowledge, making her the perfect person to speak with if you are looking for something specific. She is always up-to-date with art market trends and interior style, which I find invaluable as I can always throw ideas around with her.
Marielle is undertaking tertiary study in Art, Design and Science at the University of New South Wales. She is both an artist and designer which makes her the perfect person to seek detailed knowledge on all mediums. Her formal training in art, colour and spatial design allows her to help clients curate collections of art that are interesting and unique.
“The right piece of artwork can not only make a space look great but feel great! Artworks are an important emotive piece that can transform the mood of any room.”
Incredibly articulate and her informative blog posts (posted here at KABGallery.com) are regularly followed and enjoyed by local and international readers. People love to read her fantastic reviews because she has an excellent eye for detail and the uncanny ability to break jargon down into concepts everyone can relate to and enjoy.
I am fortunate to share my workspace with such intelligent and creative women. Their innovative approach to the daily running of KAB Gallery contributes the the much loved KAB Gallery it is today. They are optimistic and purposeful – the type of people everyone needs in their lives. They are moving forward with KAB Gallery and the rising success of KAB Gallery is testament to the teams skill, knowledge, quality of work and determination.
