Jacki Fewtrell Gobert is a contemporary artist working in primarily acrylic on board. Her work relates to her immediate evironment, be it the interior or local urban area.
“I love to exaggerate colour and at times line as well.”
Her paintings focus on the beauty of the home interior, our treasured personal space filled with memories, comfortable furnishings, special objects and the homely art collection. Jacki refers to these paintings as ‘casual still life studies’. Paintings of interiors are fascinating images. They are a combination of the artist’s imagination and documentation of life as we live it. The paintings can provide detailed insights to others lives and daily experiences while aesthetically offering interesting and beautifully composed imagery.
Formally trained at The College of Fine Arts (UNSW), Jacki has taught art and had numerous solo exhibitions since 1982 and has her works in many private as well as government collections. She has an impressive prize record having won the Mosman Art Prize twice in 1982 & 1985 as well as the Kirribilli Art Prize in 2011 & 2012. She has been a finalist in many art prizes in NSW including the Outback Art Prize, Hornsby Art Prize, the Gosford Art Prize, the Adelaide Perry Drawing Prize and more.
