2016 Still Life Painting With Sally West
The always inspiring and vibrant Australian artist Sally West visited Terrigal yesterday to paint en plein air. With the high winds and 90% possibility of rain, Sally set up under the KAB Gallery awning to paint a still life instead.
KAB Gallery proudly represents Sally and presented a special showcase of her recent artworks to coincide with her visit. Yesterday we learnt about her unique and creative painting technique LIVE at Terrigal.
She painted a beautiful native flower arrangement given to her from our resident new born, Jeremy Blanket! Ever so cute and eager to be part of the action at the front of his parents Gallery, Jeremy otherwise known as Jerry was the namesake for these two new works by Sally – “Flowers from Jerry” and “Jerry Study”.
Working with a grey background and the dazzling ruby red Proteas, Sally created one of her most unique painting yesterday! A focussed perspective and a bold mix of red, aqua blues and greens makes this artwork a must have for any contemporary interior. Drying in the window we have had so many admirers of “Flowers from Jerry” and many enjoying to pungent oil paint fragrance in the gallery.
“Jerry Study” sold off the floor straight away to a new loving home, but is here to view in the gallery whilst the oil paints form their skin for transportation.
Sally brought with her an abundance of new work for our gallery space so make sure you visit the Gallery to see them. All of these artworks are available now online and if you would like further information please call or visit the gallery directly.
