Created en plein air under the shelter of Killcare SLSC during the cyclone. A one-of-a-kind event and painting!

The impacts of Tropical Cyclone Debbie were incredible! Storm damage resulted from both the high winds associated with the cyclone, and the very heavy rain that came in the wake of Debbie’s track. The highest wind gust recorded in Queensland in recent times, at 263 kilometres per hour, was noted at Hamilton Island as Debbie passed over, and damage occurred throughout the Whitsundays, in coastal towns such as Proserpine and Bowen, and inland to Collinsville. The Cyclone moved from Queensland, across Northern NSW and then out to sea but the weather impacted all parts of the East Coast. Killcare Beach was no exception and the high winds, rough seas and rain were significant!
