Over a decade of Art: Est. 2013

Stevon Orlando

Born in Sydney in the mid 1950s, Stevon Orlando grew up in a family rooted in creativity. As the eldest of four children in a Maltese-Australian household, Stevon’s early years were filled with artistic curiosity and musical exploration. These passions flourished throughout his teenage years and eventually led him to pursue art education at Sydney’s College of Fine Arts in the vibrant 1970s. Immersed in the city’s dynamic art scene, he honed his craft and embraced the cultural and creative opportunities of the era.

Stevon’s artistic journey took a global turn in the early 1980s when he left Australia to explore Europe’s rich cultural heritage and artistic philosophies. Settling briefly in the Netherlands, he exhibited internationally for the first time with his 1981 show, Future Works, in Eindhoven. These formative years were marked by artist residencies in France and Malta, where he further developed his signature style, blending esoteric themes and academic inquiry with his passion for painting and teaching.

Returning to Australia in the mid-80s, Stevon established his creative base in Lithgow before settling in Sydney’s semi-rural northwest. Balancing family life with his artistic pursuits, he continued to explore deeply personal and philosophical themes in his work, culminating in a Master’s degree in 2003. This period solidified his interest in metaphysics and subjectivity, providing a foundation for his evolving artistic expressions.

Now based on the Central Coast of NSW, with his studio overlooking Tuggerah Lake, Stevon creates artworks designed to inspire emotional wellbeing and positive associations. Drawing from eastern philosophy, positive psychology, and art therapy, his pieces are imbued with a unique energy that resonates with collectors and clients. Today, Stevon’s focus includes portraiture and bespoke commissions, offering personalised works that reflect his lifelong dedication to art and its transformative power.
