Pro Hart

  (1928 - 2006)

Pro Hart was born in Broken Hill in 1928. He began painting full time in 1958. Taking inspiration from his life growing up and living in the NSW mining town, he painted everything from the land and sea, ants and dragonflies, mining grounds and workers, to religious scenes of his interpretation, political events, also scenes from his travels.

Pro was awarded an MBE for his services to art in Australia in 1976, he received an Honorary Life Membership of Society International Artistique for outstanding artistic achievement in 1982 and in 1983 Pro Hart received an Australian Citizen of the Year Award.

Pro Hart enjoyed painting, sculpting, experimenting with creative performance arts, collecting vintage cars and motorbikes, lifting weights and keeping in shape. These interests are reflected throughout his life work.

KAB Gallery has a range of important Pro Hart oil paintings available as well as a variety of limited edition signed and hand coloured etchings and prints.
