Helen McCullagh is an Australian artist known for her contemporary and aesthetically beautiful still life oil paintings.

She draws her inspiration from both beautiful floral arrangements in her studio and images found their online media. Helen describes her artworks as a “dialogue between social realities with images chosen through social media feeds and reproduced in a new context to distort the distinctions of time and place.”

Her application of paint is initially thick, with more luscious glazes layered upon these solid foundations. Helen reinterprets the still life genre in a modern context.
