John Earle’s work often brings our gallery visitors to a standstill – they do a double take, some pull out their glasses and all stop to stare at the meticulous work that goes into creating his paintings. As one of Australia’s most renowned landscape painters, his work can be described as hyper realistic, and this weeks favourite is no exception.

Fringed Umbrella – Bar Beach
Oil on Canvas (61x48cm) – AUD $3600

Showcasing the stunning Bar Beach in Newcastle, the ocean almost glistens off the canvas while the viewer’s eyes are drawn to the immense detail and precision evident in the artist’s representation of the beach goers. You can literally feel yourself joining them to soak up the rays on the beach.

Set in contemporary frame, this painting is available for viewing at our Terrigal gallery and also available via out website here
